OMC Magic Twig’ and all other self – striking devices: Use is banned on all SCAS waters with immediate effect.
The SCAS Committee has taken the decision to ban the use of the ‘OMC Magic Twig’ and other self striking devices on all waters (rivers and still) fished on the SCAS ticket. This decision has been made with the consideration of fish welfare and safety uppermost.
SCAS Members should consider this ban incorporated into the Societys’ Rules until further notice.
The Committee is aware that other nationally established and respected specialist organisations and angling societies have come to the same conclusions and made the same decision.
The SCAS Committee will continue to review this decision and if proven and published evidential changes to the device are made to ensure its safety, we may revisit this. If there is any uncertainty regarding this subject, please ask a member of the SCAS Committee.
