Keepers Pool Sutton Park

Brief description of fishery:

Keepers Pool is a 12th century lake of approximately 2 acres in size being stream fed, the water quality is excellent as tested by the Environment Agency in April 2026. It is a typical public parks lake having a good footfall from pedestrians and dog walkers all year round, it is in a lovely surrounding but it will never feel particularly isolated.
The lake is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) which means it can only be fished from 16th June until 14th March with the close season being strictly adhered to by all members. As the park have their own rules these have been included and are in addition to our existing SCAS rules.
Fishing is allowed from the marked yellow section on the enclosed map, the marked areas virtually fishing cover for the whole of the lake. At present the fish stock is unknown, we do know there is a good stock of large bream present but have no knowledge of the remaining species and stock.

Access & Parking

Access is via the Sutton Town Park Gate this is just off Park via the island with Clifton Rd and Upper Clifton Rd, once through the gate proceed as per the enclosed Google earth map. There is a walk of approximately 150 metres from where you park your car as only mobility parking is allowed nearer the lake. There are no steep banks at the lake and the surrounding bankside is flat and level making for comfortable fishing positions.
