Brief description of fishery
Coventry Canal Whittington/Fisherwick
The Coventry canal runs for 38 miles from Coventry to Fradley Junction where the canal terminates, the canal is navigable by narrowboats and with a towpath running along the length. SCAS has now secured the fishing rights from Whittington Bridge to Tamhorn Farm Bridge, this section is just over 2 kilometres long and fully fishable apart from short sections that are clearly marked warning of overhead cables. The section known to have good stocks of silver fish as well as perch zander and pike with the pole, float rod or light lure fishing all successful. The access is good with parking in the lay-by next to Whittington Bridge as well as parking on the quiet side road being the old Fisherwick road as marked on the google map. The boat traffic does not affect the fishing as it tends to disturb the bottom and the fish continue to feed, early morning boat traffic is very light.
